A 59-year-old woman was found dead at the intake gate of a dam in Barangay Colongulo, Surallah, South Cotabato.
The victim, a resident of Barangay Lamsugod, was discovered by the dam’s caretaker while cleaning debris and wastes at the dam on Saturday, November 15, 2025.
Rescuers from the local government retrieved the body and turned it over to the family.
Police said the victim’s family reported that she was believed to have bathed in the Allah River and may have been swept away by floodwaters and drowned before getting trapped at the dam’s intake gate.
Police found no sign of foul play, based on the post-mortem examination.
