The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-SOCCSKSARGEN (PDEA-12) destroyed more than P34 million worth of dangerous drugs in General Santos City.
The dangerous drugs destroyed included more than 4.9 kilos of shabu worth over P33.5 million, 5.7 kilos of marijuana worth nearly P700,000, and several expired regulated medicines worth around P436,000.
The drugs were disposed of through thermal destruction at a private cemetery in Barangay Mabuhay.
Before the items were incinerated, PDEA chemists conducted drug testing to double-check the substances.
PDEA-12 said the illegal drugs destroyed were confiscated from various law enforcement operations and served as evidence in drug cases. The items were then destroyed following court orders.
