Puerto Princesa City led all highly urbanized cities (HUCs) in the country with the fastest Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth in 2024, based on data from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).
The city recorded a 9.8 percent economic growth rate, ranking first among 33 HUCs nationwide and surpassing all others in the PSA’s comparison of 2024 economic performances.
The PSA also reported that all HUCs posted growth from their 2023 levels.
Other cities in the Top 10 Fastest Growing HUCs include:
- Iligan City (8.8%)
- Butuan City (8.7%)
- Tacloban City (8.2%)
- Davao City (7.9%)
- Bacolod City (7.7%)
- Makati City (7.35%)
- Malabon City (7.27%)
- Iloilo City (7.1%)
- Cebu City (7.0%)
Puerto Princesa and all cities in the Top 10 grew faster than the national GDP growth rate of 5.7 percent.
