A policeman dismissed from the service stole allegedly a motorcycle in Bacolod City.

The suspect was identified only as alias “Wen,” 46 years old.

The alleged theft happened in Barangay Cabug, Bacolod City.

According to the police, the owner of the motorcycle himself found out that the vehicle went missing from where it was parked outside of his house.

Kaagad niyang tiningnan kasi alam niyang diyan lang naka-park ang kanyang motor,” Captain Andy Ofalia, chief of Bacolod City Police Station 9, said.

The owner sought help from a security guard. They reported the incident immediately to the police that led to the arrest of the suspect.

The stolen motorcycle was recovered. But in GMA Regional TV One Western Visayas’ interview with the suspect, he denied the accusation.

However, according to the police, the suspect has been identified to be notorious in thievery.

It was learned that the suspect was dismissed from the police service in 2016. He was assigned reportedly at the Bacolod City Police Office, but later faced cases for carnapping and physical injury.

Kaya nga na-dismiss sya,” Ofalia pointed out.

The suspect is charged for violation of the Anti-Carnapping Act of 2016.

The owner of the motorcycle has refused to issue a statement.
