The City of Talisay in Cebu has hoisted a Red Alert status in preparation for the possible impact of Tropical Depression Verbena, according to Alvin Santillana, chief of the Talisay City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO).

The CDRRMO has prepared additional equipment for possible rescue operations.

Residents who were flooded on November 4, 2025, during the onslaught of Typhoon Tino, heeded immediately the call for voluntary evacuation.

In Lawaan 3 (Tres), for example, the barangay used their public address system in calling all residents to heed the mandatory evacuation morning on November 24.

As of this writing, evacuees from at least 10 flood-stricken barangays, such as Barangay Dumlog, have heeded the forced evacuation procedure.

Santillana said that there are 42 evacuation sites in the city that are packed with evacuees, including those from coastal barangays.

A few evacuees admit to GMA Regional TV Balitang Bisdak that they heeded at once the advisory after experiencing the ordeal on November 4, 2025 during the unprecedented level of flooding that Typhoon Tino unleashed.

The evacuees said that some of them have added a new feature to their houses - a ladder leading to their rooftops in case of another flooding incident.
