At least 115 families or 440 individuals have evacuated after several barangays in Butuan City were flooded following heavy rains brought by Tropical Depression Verbena on Monday, November 24, 2035.
Based on data from the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Department (CDRRMD), the barangays that implemented evacuation included Barangays Bonbon, Amparo, Bit-os, Ambago, Bitan-agan, and Bancasi.
- Barangay Bonbon: 5 families (16 individuals)
- Barangay Amparo: 13 families (61 individuals)
- Barangay Bit-os: 28 families (107 individuals)
- Barangay Ambago: 8 families (15 individuals)
- Barangay Bitan-agan: 54 families (216 individuals)
- Barangay Bancasi: 7 families (25 individuals)
The families affected are taking shelter temporarily at evacuation centers.
CDRRMD, together with barangay officials, continues to monitor the situation and provide assistance to residents affected.
Authorities urged residents to remain alert and cooperate with advisories and instructions, as rains continue to affect the city, as of this writing.
