Relief distribution in Dagupan City hit a snag after barangay officials discovered that some residents had photocopied their claim forms to receive extra food packs meant for families affected by #UwanPH.
Residents started lining up early to receive family food packs distributed by the local government. For many, the assistance offers much-needed support as they continue to recover from the typhoon’s impact.
“Malaking tulong po ito kasi mayroon kaming pang-ulan, may makakain kami,” Cristy Villamil, a resident, said.
Barangay officials earlier issued food pack claim forms to ensure orderly distribution. But in the middle of the activity, Barangay 1 Chairman HerminigiIldo Rosal said they found duplicated forms presented at the queue.
“May nakuha kaming dalawa na xerox ang binigay. Hindi pwede ’yun. Nagtataka kami kasi paubos na ang mga food packs pero marami pa rin ang nakapila. ’Yun pala may mga may dalang xerox na,” Rosal said.
He added that the council has been carefully checking each form to prevent anyone with fake or duplicated documents from receiving additional food packs.
“Pinapa-check ko talaga ang lahat ng form para makita namin kung sino ang nag-dodoble ng mga form,” he said.
The barangay council has launched an investigation to identify those responsible for reproducing the claim forms.
Despite the incident, officials assured residents that every legitimate household in the barangay will still receive assistance as planned.
