Heavy rains from Tropical Depression #VerbenaPH triggered landslides and flooding in Jabonga, Agusan del Norte on Monday, November 24, 2025.
Two houses in the town were reportedly buried in the landslides. However, occupants escaped unharmed.

Another resident, Aries Digamon, considered to have been given a second life after he also survived the landslide. He went out of the house after his friend called him moments before the landslide occurred.
“Pag-ari nako natabunan na gyud tuod hurot ang mga gamit ang nabilin nako short ra og brief kay wala man koy balon didto nagdahik (sa bangka),” Digamon said.
The residents affected said their urgent needs are food and clothes.
In Barangay Balenguian, a woman, Leonora Dagani, was emotional after her store and house were affected when floodwaters rose. She said she had lived in the area for more than 70 years and it was the first time that she experienced flooding of this scale.
“Sila na lang ang mahibaw kung unsa ang ilang ikatabang ba ang mga opisyal sa atong gobyerno kung unsa inyong ikahatag nga tabang sa amo dawaton namo sa walay sapayan, salamat gyud kaayo,” Dagani said.
The local government said two houses were destroyed while damage assessment is ongoing.
More than 2,000 families or 9,000 individuals were affected. Most of them were evacuated but have since begun returning home.
“Ang pinaka-goal man gyud nato sa tanan operational disaster response kay zero casualty and we’re glad kaluoy sa Ginoo luwas ang mga Jabonganon wala mi (casualty) although naa mi reported nga mga evacuees naa reported nga need rescue-hon pero luwas silang tanan,” Jabonga MDRRMO Head, Sherwin Fugoso, said.
