Vice President Sara Duterte on November 25, 2025 said that government officials, including the President, who refuse to undergo a drug test may be violating the Constitution, an offense considered impeachable.
Duterte said this when asked about the challenge to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to take a drug test.
The Vice President said government officials should not refuse such a request once the people call for it.
"Nakatali yun sa kanyang oath. When he took the oath as President, he said there that I consecrate myself to the service of the nation.
Duterte added that she would accompany the President should he decide to undergo the drug test.
Malacañang said earlier the President had already taken drug tests in the past and tested negative for illegal drugs.
Duterte said Marcos’ refusal to take another drug test could be considered an impeachable offense.
Senator Imee Marcos accused her brother and his family of using illegal drugs during a rally in Manila.
The President responded by expressing concern for his sister’s well-being.
“For a while now, we’ve been very worried about my sister. When I say we, I am talking about friends and family. And the reason is because the lady that you see talking on TV is not my sister. That view is shared by our cousins, our friends. Hindi siya ‘yan,” the President said.
In a social media post, Senator Marcos asserted that she was indeed the person the public saw on television. She said the President might be seeing things.
