Over 3,000 individuals or over 900 families are at evacuation centers in Bacolod City.

This after a preemptive evacuation was conducted in preparation for the impact of Tropical Depression Verbena, and that additional evacuees were rescued from flood-prone barangays on Tuesday, November 25, 2025.

Data from Bacolod City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), 26 barangays were flooded due to heavy rainfall dumped by TD Verbena.

One of heavily hit areas is Barangay Mandalagan. In a video taken by Mandalagan resident, Patrick Tejares, water from the river spilled into residences.

In Barangay 39, a few residents stayed on the roof of their houses while waiting for rescuers.

A few houses in Barangay 40 were swept away by floodwater.

"Ang sakit lang kasi wala akong naisalba, ni isa. Mga damit, mesa, electric fan, lahat-lahat,” Mara Morales, a resident, said.

In Barangay Singcang Airport, evacuees sought shelter in a church.

"May sakit ka pa, ito pa ang nangyari. Hindi pa kami nakakain may sakit ka pa, ito pa ang nangyari. Hindi pa kami nakakain,” Rosavelia Danieres, a resident, said.

Another resident, Rizalina Numbra, is disheartened that while awaiting government assistance for the ill effects of Typhoon Tino, another weather disturbance lashed in the Visayas.

"Ang lungkot lang na hindi pa nga dumating ang ayuda sa Bagyong Tino, may panibago na namang dumating,” Numbra said. 

Meanwhile, major roads in Iloilo City were inundated.

A few residents in Barangay Huervana in La Paz District waded through floodwaters.

“Expected naman na palagi ditong bumabaha. Nilalakad ko lang kasi nandiyan lang naman ang bahay namin,” said Christine Mie Cabug, a resident.

Based on data from the Local Government Unit, heavy rains flooded at least 30 barangays in Iloilo City.

At least 18 families were evacuated.

In Barangay Lopez Jaena Norte, La Paz, a few residents also fled their flood-struck houses.

"Kung doon pa kami, baka tumaas pa ang tubig,” Ynis Fernandez, a resident, said.

Water level in creeks in the city also rose to spilling.
