A sister of a 19-year-old man in Oton, Iloilo turned in to the police her brother suspected of sending a bomb threat to Oton National High School.
The bomb threat message was sent on November 21, 2025.
Alias “May,” the sister, said she was surprised when policemen came to look for her brother morning on November 21, and told her of her brother’s message.
Alias “May” said that the social media account used in sending the bomb threat has been deactivated for three years already.
However, the police traced that her brother, alias “June,” recovered the account and used it to send the bomb threat.
It was found out that alias “June” is a person with disability (PWD) and set for psychiatric evaluation for possible mental health concern.
"I-file natin ang PD [Presidential Decree] 1727, Anti-Bomb Joke Law in relation to Republic Act 10075 na Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012,” said Lt. Col. Ahlie Estember, officer in charge of Oton Municipal Police Station.
Alias “May” clarified she has no plan of claiming the P100,000 reward money.
According to the police, the suspect has owned up to sending a bomb threat to Oton National High School only.
