Flood inundated a large part of Negros Oriental as Tropical Depression Verbana crossed over the Visayas regions on November 25, 2025.
In Guihulngan City, a portion of a dike collapsed to the surge of river water.
In Canlaon City, riverwater overflowed at Binalbagan Bridge and inundated residences.
No casualty was reported as the Local Government Unit of Canlaon City earlier implemented a preemptive evacuation.
Further, the river in Barangay Arebasore in Mabinay town also overflowed, and that the spillway was rendered impassable.
In Barangay Sta. Cruz Viejo, Tanjay City, a few houses were flooded. The national highway was also inundated.
The spillway in Barangay Bago, Tayasan submerged in raging floodwater.
According to residents that because of the high level of floodwater, bridge posts were inundated also.
In Barangay Bagawines, Vallehermoso, the river overflowed and reached houses nearby.
A landslide was recorded in Barangay Tagbino, Vallehermoso where immediate clearing operations were carried out.
A landslide also occurred in Kalamtukan-Villasol Road in Bayawan City that rendered the road impassable. The barangay facilitated immediately a clearing operation.
Meanwhile, the search and rescue operation set for a 61-year-old man who was swept away in Barangay Pacuan, La Libertad while crossing a spillway was already ordered stopped. Rescue teams failed to find the senior citizen.
In the initial situationer report received by the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, nearly 1,000 families were placed under preemptive evacuation.
As of this writing, details on damages left behind by TD Verbena are yet being collated.
