At least 10 suspected leptospirosis cases have been monitored in Mandaue City, following the onslaught of Typhoon Tino.

This was disclosed by Dr. Debra Catulong, Mandaue City Health Office chief, during the pre-disaster risk assessment meeting morning on November 24, 2025.

The suspected leptospirosis cases have been recorded in the following barangays: Subangdaku with two cases, Jagobiao with two cases, Tabok with two cases, Paknaan with one case, Pagsabungan with one case, Umapad with one case, and another patient at the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center in Cebu City subject for verification.

Catulong said that there were leptospirosis cases logged earlier in 2025, but these were considered isolated cases.

“Na-a man tay kaso since start of the year gyud pero isolated ni nga cases. Because of typhoon we have 10 suspected cases, suspect pa ni nga cases, wala pa mi final nga result as of today pa lang,” Catulong said.
