The construction of the Bucana Bridge started in 2023 and is now nearing completion.
The bridge will connect the eastern and western coastal areas of Davao City.
It has four lanes and a six-span extradosed structure with a width of 480 meters. Once open to the public, it is expected to accommodate up to 35,000 vehicles.
Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Undersecretary Emil Sadain said finishing touches such as pavement marking, approach roads, sidewalks, fencing, and installation of electrical components and system connections are ongoing.
