The daughter of a poultry farm worker in Barangay Tamiao, Compostela, Cebu who perished in the severe flooding triggered by Typhoon Tino, cried foul over alleged negligence of the firm that operates the farm.

Richvell Campania, 20 years old, calls for justice as her mother, Connie Campania, was not recognized by the company to be on duty when the intense flooding occurred.

Connie was found dead among mud and debris a day after the flash flood.

Richvell said the company denied that Connie reported for work on November 4, 2025.

Richvell added that because the company stood firm that Connie did not perish while at work, her two children are not eligible for any financial assistance.

Connie was sending two children to school - Richvell on her first year in college and a younger sibling, 14 years old, in Grade 9.

Connie’s live-in partner, a certain “Cathy,” also calls for justice in the death of Connie. Cathy and Connie both worked at the poultry farm. Cathy and six other workers survive the flash flood.

Cathy said no financial assistance was given by the company. Further, the blame was placed upon Cathy allegedly for surviving, but leaving Connie behind.

According to survivors, over 30 workers were on duty when the flash flood occurred.

GMA Regional TV Balitang Bisdak went to the site of what used to be a poultry farm and saw the devastation. The poultry farm was situated near the river.

An employee told the news team he can attest that Connie reported for work on November 3, 2025 and stayed in the farm when torrential rains dumped by Typhoon Tino made it difficult for her to go home.

Earlier, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) said it is set to probe the company, on the exact number of workers who perished in the disaster, and supposed precautionary measures the firm should have taken to protect its workers.
