A ten-wheeler truck loaded with one thousand sacks of cement slammed into the center island of the South Road Properties (SRP) coastal thoroughfare in Cebu City.
A front tire exploded reportedly that led to the mishap past 5 a.m. on Thursday, November 27, 2025.
About half of a thousand bags of cement fell from the truck and littered on the road.
The impact led to the crumbling of a portion of the center island, knocking off a lamppost.
The truck was from the Municipality of San Fernando, south of Cebu, and was bound for Barangay Mabolo, Cebu City.
The driver identified as Pedro Lasmarias is safe, and that no other individual was hurt in the incident.
In an initial investigation of the Cebu City Transportation Office headed by Raquel Arce, it was found out that the driver was overspeeding.
