The Archdiocese of Cagayan de Oro and socio-civic organizations have called on the public to join a peace rally against government corruption on Saturday, November 29, 2025.

The event, organized by Mindanawon Kontra Korapsyon, is dubbed “Trillion Peso March,” which aims to raise awareness about the alleged misuse of public funds.

The group said everyone is welcome to take part and encouraged to wear white.

“All is welcome sama sa gi ingon ni Sir Nestor walay kolor, walay politika, walay kandidato everyone is welcome please wear white mao na ang importante,” Bong Florendo of the Social Action Center of the Archdiocese of Cagayan de Oro said.

The event will also be participated by youth leaders from a private university in the city.

“Pag abot sa eskwelahan kulang ang mga classrooms, kulang ang bangko, libro pag gawas nimo sa eskwelahan kung moadto sa brgy o health care centers makita nimo nga naay kakulangon sa mga pasilidad dili lang sa youth but sa public in general mao ni sya nag fuel sa kabatan-onan,” Eduard Villasunga of the Youth Against Kurakot said.

The march will start at 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. at the Gaston Park near the City Hall.

“Pag meeting sa national sa CBCP daghan mga dioceses nga nag advance naa pud na ulahi pero ang tanan kalihukan 69 ka mga dioceses out of 87 are aligned sa trillion pesos,”  Florendo added.
