The outcry against corruption echoed through the streets in various parts of the country, including in Mindanao, on Sunday, November 30, 2025, as several groups staged protests calling for accountability in government.

In Davao City, some protesters wore mud-stained clothing to symbolize what they described as the dire situation of calamity victims allegedly caused by failed and corruption-ridden flood control projects.

They were tied together with a rope held by two individuals wearing masks painted with the faces of President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. and Vice President Sara Duterte whom they demanded step down from office.

Those who held placards called for one thing: to hold the corrupt accountable.

Protesters marched around the Freedom Park in support of massive protests held in various areas of the country.

“Kailangan po nating singilin dahil lugmok na lugmok na ang bayang Pilipinas,” Stop Corruption Alliance Spokesperson, Leo Fuentes, said.

The protest ended peacefully around 4:30 p.m.

In General Santos City, the peace rally dubbed as “White Sunday” began with a procession of participants holding placards calling for an end to corruption afternoon on Sunday.

Students, parents, and members of the religious sector joined the march toward the Notre Dame Dadiangas University open field.

According to the organizers from Hinabi, the event aimed to encourage reflection on the ongoing corruption in government and to unite participants in praying for justice and peace.

Hinabi added that the youth served as speakers, who shared their sentiments and opinions on corruption issues experienced in the country.

The group also called for structural reforms, including the abolition of political dynasties, which they believe contribute to persistent corruption.

The group said the gathering was part of the observance of the Mindanao Week of Peace 2025.

Meanwhile, residents of Cagayan de Oro City also staged a peace rally at the Ampitheater in Plaza Divisoria afternoon on Sunday, to call for an end to corruption and to bring former President Rodrigo Duterte back to the country.

In Surigao City, police have increased visibility and tightened security measures as students from various colleges and universities in Surigao City took part in the ‘Trillion Peso March’ and prayer rally.
