Two were injured when a stock room with Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) tanks and butane canisters exploded morning on Monday, December 1, 2025 in Barangay Lagtang, Talisay City, Cebu.

The Talisay City Fire Station received the alarm past 5 a.m. on a fire in Sitio Molave, Barangay Lagtang.

Two persons sustained burns. One of them is reportedly in critical condition.

According to the fire investigator, FO2 Mar Dee II Auxtero, an employee referred to only as alias “Jojo,” 49 years old, sustained second-degree burns from his head to his calves. '

His co-worker sustained third-degree burns on the feet.

Meanwhile, glass shards punctured reportedly the soles of a 23-year-old individual who was also in the area when the explosion occurred. 

The fire was raised to first alarm. A fire-out was declared by 6:11 a.m.

Investigation rendered that the flammable products were placed in the stock room in the last week of November 2025.

One angle pursued by firefighters is that an employee allegedly went smoking. The employee is one of two persons injured in the incident.

The Local Government Unit of Talisay City expressed readiness to extend assistance to the injured workers and other persons affected by the explosion and the eventual fire.

The fire left behind damages estimated to be worth P600,000.
