A firefighter was injured after a dump truck crashed into a fire truck in Loboc, Bohol on Monday, December 1, 2025.
The fireman was pinned inside the fire truck.
The incident took place in Barangay Jimilian, Loboc at about noontime on December 1.
The fireman who drove the Loboc fire truck was identified as Fire Officer 1 Moises Dalagan, 28 years old, married, a resident of Bilar, Bohol.
The driver of the 10-wheeler truck was identified as Marc Leo Lim, 37 years old, resident of Barangay Sagasa, Balilihan, Bohol.
The Loboc Municipal Police Station received a call from a concerned citizen who reported about the incident in Barangay Jimilian.
Police Staff Sergeant Arnel Jotojot and Police Corporal Alfie Maquiling responded immediately at the scene.
In an investigation, they found out that the fire truck and the dump truck were traveling in opposite directions. However, upon reaching a road bend, the dump truck slammed into the fire truck.
According to the dump truck driver, he lost control of the vehicle after its steering mechanism malfunctioned.
The driver of the fire truck was pinned in the wreck. He was extricated from the vehicle successfully by responders and rushed to the hospital where he is recuperating, as of this writing.
