Bus companies in Dagupan City have begun offering advance booking as they prepare for the heavy rush of passengers expected to fill terminals in the coming weeks ahead of the Christmas holidays.
Terminal officials say the biggest crowds are likely during the second and third week of December 2025, when thousands of students head home to their provinces for the break.
“Puwede na silang mag-advance booking kasi next week ’yan punuan na. Mahihirapan na sila,” Terminal Master Michael Agbuya said.
Passengers welcomed the early booking option, saying it will help them avoid long lines and the risk of running out of seats.
“Para hindi mahirapan sa pagsakay,” Sherly Bambilla, a traveler, said.
More than 200 bus units are expected to operate out of Dagupan during the peak travel period, with routes covering provinces such as Zambales, Baguio City, and Isabela. Bus companies have also requested special permits from the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), which will take effect 10 days before Christmas.
Meanwhile, the Dagupan City Police Office said it is already on heightened alert to ensure safety in terminals and major transport hubs.
“Normal na sa atin na naka-alerto sa ganitong mga panahon,” Police Colonel Roderick Gonzales, the city police spokesperson, said.
Authorities advise passengers to secure their bookings early and remain vigilant when traveling as the holiday exodus begins.
