A laundry shop worker in Barangay Sto. Niño, City of San Fernando, Pampanga found herself in danger on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, after a man stormed into the shop and held her at knifepoint.

Police said the incident happened around 8 a.m. when the suspect entered the establishment, grabbed the attendant by her shirt, and pointed a knife at her.

He claimed unknown men were chasing him and wanted to kill him.

PLTCol. Aris Gonzales, chief of the City of San Fernando Police Station, said the suspect appeared to be hallucinating.

“Ang biktima natin ay naka-duty sa laundry shop, tapat ng isang church, then dumating ‘yung suspect. Accordingly, may humahabol daw po sa kanya na gustong pumatay so parang nagha-hallucinate. Then grinab niya ‘yung biktima na attendant ng business laundry… ginawa niyang shield,” Gonzales said.

Responding officers arrived quickly at the scene and convinced the suspect to surrender without further harm.

“Apparently, nung dumating ‘yung mga pulis natin, kumalma naman ‘yung suspek at peaceful naman sumama,” Gonzales added.

Police brought the suspect to the station but he will not face charges after the victim decided to forgive him.

Gonzales said the suspect had just been released from jail after serving time for another case. He remains in police custody and will be turned over to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) as he reportedly has no family to return to.

“Sa ngayon, nasa kustodiya pa rin ng pulisya ang suspek at inihahanda na ang kanyang turnover sa DSWD dahil wala na umano itong pamilyang mauwian,” he said.
