The Eastern Visayas Region braces for the possible effects of Tropical Depression (TD) Wilma.

TD Wilma dumped rains in a few areas in Eastern Visayas (Region 8) on Thursday, December 4, 2025.

Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) Number 1 is hoisted over areas in the region, such as in Guiuan, Eastern Samar where heavy rains poured noontime on December 4.

The Office of Civil Defense (OCD) 8 called for a pre-disaster risk assessment meeting in preparation for the impact of TD Wilma.

The meeting was presided over by OCD 8 Director Rey Gozon, officer in charge, and attended by representatives from various government agencies.

OCD 6 urged local government units (LGUs) to conduct preemptive evacuation when necessary.

“Nagpalabas na tayo ng memorandum with regards to preemptive evacuation, yung mga no essential ‘wag muna mag-travel  especially yung mga non-essential travel, and yung mga preparedness measures na rin sa mga Local DRRM [Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office],” Gozon said.

Gozon also said that the public must be vigilant about the weather, and must pay attention to the amount of rain that TD Wilma brings.

“Actually within today, nagsimula nang mag-ulan dito. Pero based dun sa ano, by weekend mag-la-landfall,” Gozon added.
