The Court of Appeals has ordered the freezing of the assets of Benguet Rep. Eric Yap and ACT-CIS Party-list Rep. Edvic Yap, President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. confirmed, as government probes alleged irregularities in flood control projects.

Marcos said the freeze covers the bank accounts and properties of Silverwolves Construction Corporation and Sky Yard Aviation Corporation, along with the personal assets of those involved.

“Sakop ng freeze order ang mga account at ari-arian ng Silverwolves Construction Corporation at Sky Yard Aviation Corporation. Gayundin ang mga personal account at asset ng mga indibidwal na nasangkot sa imbestigasyon kabilang si Congressman Eric Yap at Edvic Yap,” the President said.

According to Marcos, authorities froze 280 bank accounts linked to the Yap brothers and the two companies. The order also includes 22 insurance policies, three securities accounts, and eight aircraft.

He said this action is tied to their alleged involvement in questionable flood control projects. Silverwolves Corporation reportedly had more than ₱16 billion in transactions from 2022 to 2025, most of which were linked to DPWH flood control works.

Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla earlier said Congressman Eric Yap had ties to some projects in La Union implemented by Silverwolves, which he formerly owned.

A staff member of Congressman Eric Yap said he has no comment for now. The camp of Congressman Edvic Yap has also not released any statement, though he was earlier reported to have received money from the Discayas.

The companies mentioned have yet to issue comments, as well.

President Marcos said the freeze order aims to protect public funds.

“Kailangan natin ang mga freeze order na ito para hindi maibenta ang mga ari-arian at para maibalik natin sa ating mga kababayan ang bawat pisong pinaghihinalaang ninakaw,” he said.
