Around 24,000 families from eight areas in Cebu Province affected heavily by Typhoon Tino in November 2025 will receive cash assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
The distribution of the Emergency Cash Transfer (ECT) will take place from December 11 to 13.
The families are from Cebu City, Mandaue City, Talisay City, and Danao City and the municipalities of Consolacion, Liloan, Compostela ug Balamban.
Each family will receive P10,125 from the P173 million allocated by DSWD.
DSWD-7 Director Shalaine Lucero said the distribution will be the first round. The agency has tallied 666,455 families (2.5 million individuals) from 94 local government units in the country affected by Typhoon Tino.
Meanwhile, DSWD-7 hopes to distribute before Christmas Day the financial assistance to all 103,036 families whose houses were damaged or destroyed by the magnitude 6.9 earthquake that hit Bogo City, Cebu on September 30, 2025.
Distribution of the aid for four batches is ongoing, as of this writing. DSWD has requested for additional budget from the national government for the fifth batch of families.
Families whose houses were destroyed are given P10,125 each while families whose houses were damaged are given P5,250 each.
