A lawyer was ambushed in Mandaue City, Cebu morning on Thursday, December 11, 2025.

The shooting incident happened at about 6 a.m. in Sacris Road, Barangay Bakilid, Mandaue City.

The victim was driving the car. 

Two men on board a motorcycle reportedly fired several times at the car.

The lawyer was rushed to the Mandaue District Hospital, but was pronounced dead on arrival.

It was learned that the victim is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and a resident of Consolacion. He was on his way to work.

“Background sa victim, sa information nga nakuha nato no, usa ni siya ka BIR examiner and also CPA-lawyer…backtracking, pag-gather og information ngita pa ta sa mga posibleng mga suspek, naa ba ni siya naka-away ang mao nga victim,” according to Police Lt. Col. Mercy Villaro-Kantuna, information officer of the Mandaue City Police Office (MCPO).

The Mandaue City Police has created a special investigation task group to delve into the incident.

The MCPO has looked into all possible angles, both personal and work-related angles.

The authorities have also coordinated with the family of the victim.

“Sa investigation tan-awon nato sa work sa personal niya, sa family, tanan atong kuhaon nga information, kay diha ta maka-get og information until makuha nato kinsa man ang possible suspek nga nipatay,” Kantuna added.

The Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) Cebu Chapter condemns the death of the lawyer identified as Atty. Duke Ramil Perral Lincuna.

“The IBP Cebu Chapter unequivocally condemns this brazen act of violence. This reprehensible act constitutes not merely a crime against the person of Atty. Lincuna but is a direct, grievous assault on the rule of law and the legal profession itself. Such an attack seeks to obstruct the administration of justice and shall not be tolerated,” IBP Cebu Chapter said in a statement.
