A landslide at a portion of Barangay Manipis, Talisay City, Cebu occurred past 5 a.m. on Friday, December 12, 2025.
The landslide, particularly in Camp 6, was caught on video.
Motorists missed the landslide by a hair’s breadth. They were seen in the video leaving the area in a hurry.
The said portion of the Talisay-Toledo Wharf Road was closed for clearing operation.
The City of Talisay-Traffic Operation Development Authority (CT-TODA) stopped motorists who tried to pass through the area for safety reasons.
Jonathan Tumulak, CT-TODA chief, said that no one was hurt in the incident.
The area was cleared immediately of soil, boulders and rocks, and other debris.
Personnel of the Department of Public and Works and Highways (DPWH) responded at the site.
Tumulak advised the public to avoid the area while clearing operation is ongoing. Alternate route suggested is the Uling-Naga Road to get to the midwest section of Cebu Province.
No downpour was recorded on December 12, but rains in the previous days may have triggered the landslide, he said.
“Tibuok gyud dan ani maoy natabunan, more or less gibanabana ni nato nga gidaghanon sa yuta nga mga nangatagak, gibanabana nato sa walo (8) ngadto sa napu (10) ka dump truck load sa yuta nga nahagbong sa dan. Tungod kay naka-experience man ta niadtong miaging semana og pipila ka mga adlaw nilabay nga pirme ang pag-uwan hinungdan nga niresulta ngadto na sa pagkahumok sa yuta,” Tumulak pointed out.
