A 41-year-old man was arrested with suspected shabu worth around P13.6 million in a sting operation in Barangay Gusa, Cagayan de Oro City dawn on Saturday, December 13, 2025.

The Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (COCPO) said the suspect was tagged as a high value individual in the illegal drug trade.

Seized from his possession were 17 sachets of suspected shabu weighing around two kilos, a Chinese tea bag, a cellphone, and a digital weighing scale, among others.

The suspect is now detained and will face charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act (RA 9165).

"This significant seizure is a testament to our unwavering commitment to rid Cagayan de Oro City of illegal drugs and protect our communities from the harmful effects of the drug trade. We will continue to work closely with our partners like PDEA to ensure that drug traffickers have no place to operate in our city," COCPO Director, Col. Dexter Paje, said.
