Authorities are looking into jealousy as a possible reason a man stabbed his 37-year-old wife to death in Barangay Indahag, Cagayan de Oro City.
The victim, who worked at a Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) company, was found dead with at least 12 stab wounds in the neck in a forested area on Saturday, December 13, 2025.
Police said the victim’s husband arrived at the area and appeared emotional upon seeing his dead wife.
Later, investigators said the victim’s husband admitted that he stabbed his wife.
The suspect said he and his wife were fighting while they were heading to the city proper evening on Friday.
More than nude tapos makig-collab (sa uban),” the suspect said.
Police said the couple had previous conflicts that led to physical altercations.
Authorities are eying jealousy as motive.
Actually as to the motive ilahang nakita nga selos ang motibo sa maong krimen,” Navarro said.
Police are also verifying information that the suspect may have been under the influence of illegal drugs when he killed his wife.
The suspect is facing parricide charges.
