Authorities in Albay held an emergency meeting on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, as Mayon Volcano showed increasing activity.

The Albay Provincial Safety and Emergency Management Office (APSEMO), led by OIC Department Head Roderick Mendoza, met with the local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices (DRRMOs) at the Albay Provincial Disaster Operations Center.

The meeting reviewed evacuation plans, manpower readiness, and logistical support.

Officials monitored developments closely after PHIVOLCS reported that recent volcanic activity showed similarities to signs observed before the 2023 eruption.

Mayon Volcano remains under Alert Level 1. Authorities reiterated that entry into the 6-kilometer Permanent Danger Zone is strictly prohibited as a safety precaution.
