A 50-year-old man was arrested for allegedly stabbing a salon owner and content creator who was streaming live on social media.

In the live video, everything appeared normal inside the salon in Purok 2, Barangay Yumbing, Mambajao town around 6 p.m. on Sunday, December 14, 2025.

Moments later, a man wearing a white shirt suddenly entered the salon and stabbed the 33-year-old victim several times, causing panic among those inside the establishment.

A barber tried to the stop the suspect, and the two confronted each other before they eventually moved outside the salon.

The victim was seen later bleeding heavily and clutching the back of his neck.

Residents immediately reported the incident to authorities, which resulted in the arrest of the suspect.

The police learned that the victim and the suspect’s live-in partner had a long-standing conflict that had spilled over onto social media.

“Aduna’y mga verbal dispute ang iyang live-in partner sa biktima. So ga-away sila through online posting nga mao’y taod-taod napud siguro naka-ingon kini siya sa maong suspetsado ang kontra sa biktima,” Police Regional Office-Northern Mindanao (PRO-10) Spokesperson, Major Joann Navarro, said.

The victim is now in stable condition, as of this writing.

In a social media post, he said he is determined to press charges against the suspect.

The suspect has yet to issue a statement, but he reportedly told authorities that he was drunk at the time of the incident.

“Magpasaka og kasong frustrated murder ang maong biktima kabahin aning aksidente and he will be inquest sa atong piskalya,” Navarro added.

Police described the incident as an isolated case.

“Dili man ni kaso nga bisan kinsa lang ang nabiktima… an isolated case ug atoa pud kini natagaan og kaning kasulbaran diretso,” Navarro said.
