The detour road near the portion of the Bukidnon-Davao City Road in Quezon, Bukidnon that collapsed following a landslide on October 18, 2025, is set to be completed by January 2026.

The detour road located in Sitio Kipolot, Barangay Palacapao spans 460 linear meters. Construction is currently at the graveling stage.

According to the contractor, the layer of the gravel being compacted from the ground up is around 35 centimeters thick.

A field density test will then be conducted to assess road compaction before the detour road is opened to motorists.

The road will have four lanes once passable.

The Department of Public Works and Highways-Northern Mindanao (DPWH-10) reported that the project is 65 percent complete, as of this writing.

Authorities expect that the detour road will be passable to all types of vehicles by the first or second week of January 2026.

The project costs P46.6 million from the DWPH Quick Response Fund.

In 2026, the detour road is scheduled to be concreted. In the meantime, the “tabo system,” where passengers are transferred to another bus on the opposite side to continue their trip, is still being implemented in the area.

Temporary stairways have also been installed to ensure public safety.
