At least 16 policemen, their chief of police, and a non-uniformed staff member of the Dolores Municipal Police Station in Eastern Samar were dismissed from the service for drinking liquor while on duty.
The station chief was sacked for command responsibility.
According to a “24 Oras” report of GMA-7 on Thursday, December 18, 2025, the policemen were having a drinking session in a Christmas party inside the police station on December 15.
“May Christmas party po that time so ‘yun po nag-inuman sila sa loob ng police station. Under our protocol and guidelines, bawal mag-inom sa loob ng police station,” said Police Lt. Col. Analiza Catilogo-Armeza of the Regional Public Information Office.
In a press statement on December 16, Police Regional Office (PRO) 8 reiterates that the Philippine National Police (PNP) has a clear policy strictly prohibiting the consumption of alcoholic beverages while on duty and within police premises, as provided under existing PNP rules and regulations.
PRO 8 emphasizes it does not tolerate any form of misconduct committed by its personnel.
“Any violation of rules and regulations will be dealt with accordingly. Likewise, PRO 8 appreciates the effort of the concerned citizen who reported the infraction, as such reports help strengthen transparency and accountability within the organization,” it added.
