Road repair works across Nueva Ecija were halted temporarily to give motorists a smoother and safer drive home this holiday season.
The Nueva Ecija First and Second District Engineering Offices ordered the pause in road and bridge repairs to avoid traffic delays as more travelers head to the provinces. Among the affected areas was Maharlika Highway, a major route used by motorists traveling to Isabela, Cagayan, and Aurora.
Authorities said work continued only on essential projects, including the construction of an alternate route near the ongoing Sagana Bridge repair in Laur town. This route served motorists bound for Gabaldon in Nueva Ecija and Dingalan in Aurora.
Meanwhile, the Department of Public Works and Highways focused on installing road signs and early warning devices along curved sections of roads in Carranglan and Pantabangan, areas where accidents are often reported.
