At least four ash emission events were recorded on Mount Kanlaon in Negros Island within a 24-hour observation period.
According to the December 23, 2025 advisory of the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS), the ash emission events from 12 a.m. on December 22, 2025 to December 23, 2025 spanned from 28 minutes to one hour and 57 minutes long.
The voluminous ash emission events generated plumes that reached 900 meters tall that drifted northwest.
At least three volcano-tectonic (VT) earthquakes were recorded. Sulfur dioxide flux reached 1,845 tons as of December 22, 2025.
The volcano edifice remains inflated.
Alert Level 2 prevails over Mount Kanlaon, which means that the volcano is in a state of increased unrest.
