The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Central Visayas is on Red Alert status in preparation for the Christmas celebration and the New Year revelry.

BFP 7 targets zero casualty in firecracker-related incidents, this according to FCSupt. Fred Trajeras Jr., regional director of BFP 7, during the Cebu City Fire Office's 52nd Fire Service Recognition Day.

He ordered tight monitoring of areas designated as firecracker-and-pyrotechnics-selling zones such as South Road Properties (SRP) in Cebu City.

A fire truck is deployed at SRP to respond promptly in case of an incident.

With the hoisting of a Red Alert status, fire personnel are on standby in case of emergency.

Further, BFP 7 seeks to extend its services through a satellite office in the Province of Bohol.

Furthermore, Trajeras has honored fire stations and their personnel for bravery, dedication, and excellence in service, especially during natural disasters.
