A woman was found dead along the side of Gamu–Roxas Road in Barangay Linglingay, Gamu, Isabela, prompting police to form a special task force to speed up the investigation.

The body was found on December 20, 2025, after a concerned citizen noticed a red plastic-wrapped figure by the roadside and reported it to authorities.

Police said initial investigation showed that the victim had informed her husband on Friday that she was going somewhere, but she never returned home.

The Isabela Police Provincial Office created a Special Investigation Task Force to focus on the case. Authorities confirmed that they already have a person of interest but said they could not release more details while investigation is ongoing.

The victim’s family is calling for justice.

According to Isabela Police Provincial Office information officer, PCpt. Scarlette Topinio, police are making progress in the case.

Police continue to gather evidence and interview witnesses to identify those responsible.
