Police in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte caught several minors playing with illegal firecrackers, known locally as boga, during a routine patrol.

The Bacarra Police said officers were conducting rounds when they saw children using the prohibited firecrackers. Authorities confiscated eight boga from seven minors found playing in the area.

Police immediately called the parents of the children and gave them warnings about the dangers of illegal firecrackers, especially to minors.

The Philippine National Police also asked barangay officials to help monitor the use of boga and other banned firecrackers to prevent accidents and injuries, especially during the holiday season.
