A driver and his helper were injured after the truck they were riding plunged into a ravine in Zamboanga City morning on Tuesday, December 23, 2025.
Police said the truck was transporting filling materials and fell upon reaching an uphill section of the road.
“Upon reaching dito banda sa may hillside paangat na yung daanan so yung driver natin accordingly sinubukan i-engage, mag-change ng gear pero hindi pumasok yung pag-change na ng gear kaya umatras yung truck at saka nahulog sa dito sa may bangin,” Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) Spokesperson, Lt. Col. Paul Andrew Cortes, said.
The 23-year-old driver and his 28-year-old helper were rescued. They sustained injuries but are now stable, as of this writing.
Police added that due to the impact, a roadside barrier was also damaged after being hit by the truck.
