At least 10,000 police personnel have been deployed in the Provinces of Cebu and Bohol, or the Central Visayas, to ensure order and safety in the celebration of Christmas 2025.

Police Regional Office (PRO) 7 Director, Brigadier General Redrico Maranan said that PRO 7 is on full alert for the Christmas celebration.

Maranan takes pride in the performance of the police force in securing all nine dawn Masses (Misa de Gallo) and evening Masses (Simbang Gabi) in the entire region.

No untoward incident was reported, he said, and that the celebration was relatively peaceful.

Maranan has thanked the public for their strong cooperation to the police, and the help of government agencies and force multipliers, which contributed to the peaceful and successful offering of all Misa de Gallo and Simbang Gabi.

In Talisay City, Police Lt. Col. Homobuno Sayon, chief of Talisay City Police Station, attributes the success of the police force to the huge help of Talisaynons for their vigilance.

Tight security at ports and terminals has been implemented. No untoward incidents were reported in the ports, airports, and terminals in the region.

Maranan has reminded policemen and gun owners against indiscriminate firing.

Police are deployed on roads, he said, but to strengthen safety further, he urged the public report immediately any untoward incident or suspicious individuals in the community to ensure safe and peaceful celebration of Christmas Day.
