Travelers flocked to terminals in Iloilo City and Bacolod City on Christmas Eve.
An influx of passengers at a bus terminal in Barangay Camalig, Jaro District, Iloilo City was observed on Wednesday, December 24, 2025.
One of the passengers is Babylin Ore, bound for Sapian town in the Province of Capiz.
“Uuwi ako para syempre makasama ko ang mga anak ko sa Pasko,” Ore said.
The Land Transportation Office (LTO) 6 conducted stringent inspection of buses and other public utility vehicles.
“Ang mga problema lang nila is ang gulong. So, kung defective ang gulong or worn-out tire na, so ina-advise namin na ipa-change siya kasi delikado sa biyahe,” Relin Reyes, head of LTO 6 Law Enforcement Section, said.
Police are also deployed to ensure terminal security.
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) sent K9 dogs to assure that no contraband could go on board the buses.
However, only a few passengers were observed at a bus terminal in Arevalo District.
"Medyo flowing ngayon ang pasahero compared sa mga normal na araw,” said Isidro Esumadia, dispatcher at Mohon Bus Terminal.
Personnel of the Philippine Coast Guard are on strict watch at the ports.
Meanwhile in Bacolod City, there were more passengers on Wednesday, December 24, compared to the previous day.
Passengers at the Bacolod South Bus Terminal chose the early trips bound for home to be able to catch up with the Noche Buena, referring to the Christmas Eve feast.
“Super importante na magkasama this Christmas. Even kaunti lang ang handa, mas importante na magkakasama,” Kaila Garzola, a traveler, said.
“Excited kasi nandiyan ang pamilya ko. Para sa mga bata. Magluluto pa ako ng spaghetti,” according to Allan Calago, another passenger.
