A pet dog was shot several times in a barangay in Candon City, Ilocos Sur, after it was accused of biting someone.
The incident happened in Barangay Cubcubuot.
A cellphone video taken by Michaela Catacutan showed her pleading for the shooting to stop. Her voice could be heard asking the gunman to spare the dog, which was accused of biting a person in the area.
The video also captured the sound of gunshots. Reports said the dog was shot four times.
Catacutan said she reported the incident to barangay officials. She also filed a complaint with the Candon City Prosecutor’s Office to seek legal action over what happened.
GMA Regional TV One North Central Luzon is trying to get a statement from those involved, especially the person who shot the dog. The news team is also seeking comment from local authorities for clarification and possible action.
