A man drowned while swimming in the waters of Barangay Lucatan, Tarragona, Davao Oriental on Christmas Day.
His companion survived.
According to a report by GMA Super Radyo Davao, the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) said the two are residents of Maliongan, Barangay Tomoaong.
The man who was rescued was rushed to a hospital while search and retrieval operations were launched for the other man.
Authorities reminded the public to exercise caution and act responsibly during activities at sea.
