A total of 11,987 inbound passengers in Negros Occidental was logged from December 24 to 25, 2025, while outbound passengers reached 11,294, based on data from the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Northern Negros Occidental.
On December 26, several inbound travelers continued to pass through Bredco Port in Bacolod City. Several travelers are on vacation and that the volume is expected to soar hours to the New Year revelry.
“Marami pa rin ang influx sa ating biyahe. Dahil diyan, patuloy ang pag-conduct ng masusing monitoring. Dahil sa ganitong season, marami tayong bakasyonista galing sa ibang probinsya,” said Lt.JG John Hoffer Olis, spokesperson of PCG Northern Negros Occidental.
A total of 11,294 traveled out of the province for other destinations.
Inspection of passengers tightened further to ensure public safety and order.
Among objects prohibited are sharp, bladed objects such as knives.
Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and firecrackers are strictly prohibited on board sea vessels.
"Naka-screen ang mga ipinagbabawal na mga bagay. Naiiwasan ang pagdaan ng ipinagbabawal na mga kargamento,” Olis added.
PCG personnel confiscated knives and firecrackers brought by passengers upon entry at port terminals.
In addition, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) focused tightly on stores selling firecrackers.
“Tuloy- tuloy yung inspection ng Bacolod City Fire Station sa firecracker zone. Since December 15, meron tayong nakadeploy na mga bombero at firetruck sa area,” according to FInsp. Jemarie Tapiru, deputy fire marshal of BFP Bacolod City.
