A 39-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly punched a police auxiliary past 12 midnight on Monday, December 29, 2025.

According to a report by GMA Super Radyo Davao, the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) said the police auxiliary was patrolling the area with a police officer when they noticed the suspect driving a motorcycle with two companions riding in pillion.

The motorcycle was reportedly swerving, and the suspect and his companions were not wearing helmets.

When authorities advised the suspect to stop driving due to safety concerns and suggested that they take a tricycle instead, the suspect allegedly got angry and punched the police auxiliary in the chest.

The suspect also reportedly challenged the officer to a fistfight.

Authorities then asked the suspect to present documents for the motorcycle, but he allegedly refused to cooperate, prompting them to arrest him.

The suspect may face charges for direct assault and violation of Article 151 of the Revised Penal Code, the law that penalizes an individual who resists and disobeys a person in authority.
