Authorities seized parcels containing suspected dried marijuana leaves worth around P3.5 million in General Santos City.

Operatives found at least two kilos of suspected marijuana leaves upon opening a parcel placed inside a box of clothes at a warehouse of a cargo forwarding company in New Bohol, Barangay Calumpang.

The operation was launched after a man, who was arrested for alleged illegal drugs involvement on December 22, 2025, told authorities that he was expecting a parcel containing marijuana.

The parcel originated from Dasmariñas City and was addressed to a certain “Jordan.”

During the operation, five kilos more of dried marijuana leaves were turned over by the company manager after noticing similarities in the boxes and sender details.

“Naa tay information nga naay padala gikan sa usa ka forwarding company diha sa dakung barangay sa calumpang , dire-derecho na, dili man I pwedeng madugay. Pag -abri natu right there and then. Gi-witness sa barangay officials ug media friends Nakita nato ang duha, ang isa karton 5 ka kilos a total of 7 kilos. Worth of 3.5 million pesos,” General Santos City Police Office Director, Col. Nicomedes Olaivar Jr., said.

Police said the illegal shipment likely bypassed regular inspection at the forwarding company.

“Siguro na-outsmart ang ato’ng taga-inspect, ato’ng forwarding company, kay wala ma-tract didto nga iligal ang napadala,” Olaivar added.

Investigation into the incident continues.
