A 19-year-old rider was killed after the motorcycle he was driving crashed into an oncoming vehicle on Macasandig Boulevard in Cagayan de Oro City on Monday, December 29, 2025.
Based on investigation, the motorcycle was reportedly overtaking another vehicle while heading toward the city proper.
The rider, a resident of Libona, Bukidnon, was also allegedly chasing another motorcycle at that time.
Police said the rider overshot a slight curve, causing him to crash into an oncoming vehicle.
The rider died shortly after he was brought to the hospital.
The driver of the vehicle involved was taken into police custody after the incident.
However, police said both parties have reportedly reached an agreement.
Authorities reminded motorists to observe the 30/kmh speed limit strictly along Macasanding Boulevard and to always wear a helmet when riding motorcycles.
