Three juveniles drowned in Dingle, Iloilo while on a swim in Moroboro Dam.
According to their friend, a certain "Franz," the three juveniles went out for a swim past noon on December 30, 2025.
However, 11-year-old “Leron” slipped accidentally.
The boys did not know reportedly that they were swimming in a deep part of the dam.
“Si Leron ang nadulas. Ako ang unang tumalon sa kaniya. Kaya lang hindi ko kinaya,” alias “Franz,” a friend, said.
Their other companions tried to help as well. Four jumped into the water, but two of them perished due to strong current. They were identified as a certain “Jar,” 13 years old, and “Jimmy,” 12 years old.
According to Jimmy’s mother, her son tried to save Leron, a relative.
After about five hours of search and rescue operation, Leron’s body was retrieved past 5 p.m. on December 30, 2025.
Later, Jar’s body was also found.
Upon resumption of the search and rescue operation past 7 a.m. on Wednesday, December 31, Jimmy’s body was located.
In an investigation by the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the strong current is one of the reasons that led to the drowning.
Bartolome Beliran, BFP 6 assistant regional director.
