Cebu City is 70-percent ready for the Feast of the Señor Santo Niño and Sinulog Festival 2026.

The Local Government Unit of Cebu City made sure that systems are in place for both the big cultural and religious events of the Sinulog Festival and the Feast of Señor Santo Niño on January 18, 2026.

According to Cebu City Councilor Dave Tumulak, Sinulog 2026 in-charge, the remaining 30 percent will be about the finer details of the events.

Tumulak said that the Sinulog Foundation, Inc. is 70-percent prepared ahead of schedule because it also started the works early.

The organizer would want to assure the smooth flow of the Sinulog Grand Parade and its program.

The grand parade will open with a Holy Mass to be presided by Archbishop Emeritus Jose Palma. The parade is expected to wrap up by 7 p.m.

Bleachers along the route of the grand parade and portalets will be available.

Establishments along the route are encouraged to allow spectators to use their comfort rooms.

Further, the Philippine National Police (PNP) will deploy around 10,000 policemen with force multipliers to strengthen efforts in maintaining peace and order in the festivity.

The send-off ceremony is set on Monday, January 5.

Preparation is tight for religious activities beginning with the Misa Novena (nine-day offering of Holy Masses) leading to the day of the feast on Sunday, January 18.

The Novena Mass will start on January 8.
