Authorities stopped more than ₱7 million worth of ecstasy from entering the country after they found the illegal drugs at the Port of Clark in Pampanga.
Officials discovered over 4,000 ecstasy tablets inside two parcels that were declared as “car mats.” Records showed the parcels came from Austria and were supposed to be delivered to a consignee in Davao City.
Personnel from the Bureau of Customs inspected the shipments in the presence of operatives from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the police.
Authorities said they are now tracing those behind the shipment as part of their ongoing investigation.
